General information

Participation is restricted to 35 participants.

Registration is scheduled on Sunday, September 1th, from 14.00, at the University Guest House "Olimpia" (Lungo Dora Siena 104)

Morning sessions and tutorials
The school will be held from September 1st to September 5th at the Chemistry Departments of the Torino University. The morning sessions will be devoted to lectures by experts. The afternoons will be dedicated to practical sessions. In the tutorials it will be shown how to use the new capabilities of CRYSTAL13 and CRYSCOR13.

Posters
Participants will have the opportunity to present posters, that will be on display during a special session on Wednesday 4th, afternoon.

Social events
On Sunday 1th, a Welcome Party will be offered after the opening ceremony and participant presentation.
On Wednesday 4th, afternoon, after the poster session, there will be a refreshment with wine tasting.

Lodging

The University guest house "Olimpia" (Lungo Dora Siena 104) is available as lodging facility for students attending the School.
16 rooms have been reserved for attendants. Participants will be accommodated in double rooms. All rooms have been refurnished recently.
The University guest house is located at approximately 35 minutes by bus from the Chemistry Departments.
Public transportation (lines 16, 18, and 68) is available near the University guest house to the School location (see the map):

Attendees preferring an independent accommodation please see the following web site.
The local organizing committee will not take care of hotel reservation.

Grants

If funds are available, a limited number of grants will be offered to partially cover participation costs (no support to travel expenses can be given).
Attendants applying for grants should provide a recommendation letter by their supervisor, group leader or senior scientist.

 

Workshop in memory of Cesare Pisani

On September 6-7th, 2013, a two-day workshop in memory of Cesare Pisani will follow the MSSC2013 School.
The workshop celebrates the life and accomplishments of Cesare Pisani, during his more than fourty-year academic career, and provides an occasion to remember his contributions to computational solid state chemistry and physics. The program features talks by several eminent scientists on the recent development of theoretical and computational chemistry of crystalline systems.
The workshop will be held at Rettorato (Palace of the Rector of the University), located in Via Po 17 (or Via Verdi 8 as secondary entrance), I-10124, Torino (Italy)
